UMusic

music schools. We offer instruction on guitar, bass,
piano, drums and voice in a wide range of musical styles.
UMusic also offers classes and workshops that focus
on developing musical interaction and performance skills
between students while integrating music theory.

Jazz
Workshop: (guitar-bass) In a symposium enviroment
students will be able to learn about the following skills:
improvisational vocabulary, chord embellishments and substitutions,
rhythmic concepts, modal applications and playing over changes.

Blues
Workshop: (guitar-bass) This workshop will initially
cover various elements including blues chording, progressions,
and improvisation. Advanced topics such as chord substitutions,
soloing over turnarounds will also be covered after the students
have a firm grasp of the basics.

Band
Workshop : Students are matched
according to ability, genre and compatibility. Supervised
by instuctors with a keen ear for interplay students will
learn about structure, dynamics and channeling creativity
collectively.
Instructors
will also provide critique and positive reinforcement during
the session. The Band Workshop is a great way to facilitate
musical interaction and also prepares students for future
public performance. |

Applied Theory:
(bass) Focuses on
concepts that will broaden a students view of the bass and
it's capablilties. Techniques include creating simultaneous
chord and melody lines using two handed tapping methods and
much more.
Applied Theory: (keyboard)
Learn how to view the keyboard in an orchestral/band sense.
Using today's technology we are able to provide participants
the ability to explore new creative directions through the
implementation of midi and sequencing technologies.
